A production list is to capture all the props, costume, equipment and actors needed on set in each scene. It is collected onto a graph that the team can use to organise the day efficiently. The production list enables us, as a team, to run as smoothly as possible on the day of filming and make sure we have everything on set that we need to make the day as successful and trouble-free as possible.
Evaluation:
-In the filming process we decided not to use handheld shots. This was due to the sophistication in the shots but we did use a handheld for shot three for the high angle shot of the mobile phone; this was to get the correct angle. Apart from that we used the tripod. -In the editing process we edited out shot 13 with three teenage boys. Also in the editing process, due to the film being two minutes long, many of these shots were cut or when filming we continued them into one another. -The shots were filmed in this order but slightly changed during the editing process. |

We decided the shot order due to the natural lighting from outside; we needed to shoot the outside shots in the dark,. therefore would have to film later on in the day. However, we wanted to keep the order of the other shots in the continuous order to help our actress perform to the best of her ability with ease and understanding of her portrayal which will make the audience believe the peice and therefore have the greatest psychological horror impact.
Our actress is LEAH.
She is a 17 year old student and studies drama. The fact that she is 17 and the character Ivy is 17 makes it understandable that she will be able to empathise with the character.

Not only does her age help but her appearence does too; she has the conventional teenage look, which the audience can relate to.
With her other studies and travelling distance to my house, where the film location is, she found it hard to dedicate herself to the filming.
In order to ensure we had a reliable actress on the day of filming, that could commit their time we decided to change our actress. We still wanted someone that studies drama so that the acting would be as believable and real as possible to bring successful tension to the horror two minute film. It would also make the filming process easier as she would be used to taking directions and understanding the intentions behind the character. |
Our new actress is MOLLY. She is also a 17 year old, which makes sense to cast due to the relatability of the character Ivy and her. She studies drama so will be able to portray the character with the conviction that the film needs. Her appearance fulfilled the conventions of a teenager, which would make it easy for the audience to relate to her. When casting a new actress, I became aware of the detail needed for the character; her hair colour. Molly has light hair which instantly brings a vulnerability and sweetness to the character, this will make the horror two minute film more tense from observing 'innocence'. From the market research, blonde girls for psychological horrors appeared more than brunettes. |
The three teenage boys needed for shot 13 are all 14 years old. They are conventional teenage boys, wearing home clothes. We managed to get in contact with them as they are friends of our editors/producer's sister.
